First Steps
If you are having a problem with aquisition there are some general steps you can take to resolve a number of common issues. If you try all these things and are still having problems please read filing a bug on how to write a good problem report.
It's fairly likely that someone else has had a similar problem as yours. There may be 'open' or 'closed' threads that are applicable to your problem. Go to the issues page and inspect the search box next to the 'Filters' drop down. You'll notice by default that there are two active filters:
- is:issue
- is:open
What you want to do is search for issues related to your own. It's possible that 'closed' issues address your problem so remove the 'is:open' filter and then add search terms related to your problem (likely you got an error message so put in a few key words from the error message).
You should then have a list of 'open' and 'closed' issues related to your problem. Look through these threads and see if you can solve your problem based on the information from these other threads.
For Auto-Online issues see Auto-Online. Note that the feature won't work if you aren't logged into the game or if you are using steam streaming client. Also note that it can take up to five minutes for poe.trade to actually notice your online status so even though you may see green 'online' in acquistion there is some delay until you are noticed. Normally this takes around 1 minute.
See the POE Shop Indexer thread.
If you have any in-game pending character renames that can cause acquisition problems so please complete the rename process.
Restart your computer and see if the problem persists.
By default aquisition will cache your credentials allowing you to login without repeatedly entering your username/password. However, it seems that in some cases your credential information can get out of date or corrupted such that you can login but will have issues within the took with website related accesses.
To refresh your credentials login specifically using your username/password and see if website related access problems persist.
If you're having issues sending shop make sure you didn't incorrectly modify or clear the 'Shop' -> 'Shop Template..' field. The default contents for this field should just be:
[Items]
Currently this dialog allows invalid entries. The only legal values are digits, spaces and commas to seprate thread ID's. If you pasted in the whole URL you'll get 'Cannot extract CRLF token' errors.
There are a number of possible issues that could be related to a corrupted aquisition database. If you can afford to 'lose' your pricing information and you're prepared to re-setup aquisition there is a reasonably good chance this might fix your problem.
Acquisition preferences are stored in %localappdata%\acquisition
You can start a 'cmd' shell and run 'cd %localappdata%\acquisition' to get there and find the full path. To reset simply delete or rename this directory. If you want to only reset db information for one league see #276.
