White squares instead of resource icons in new game - SOLVED 4.15.6

Describe the bug

I am experiencing an issue where the resource icons are replaced with white squares when starting a new game in Unciv. The icons display correctly in other parts of the game, such as the Civilopedia and map editor.

Steps to Reproduce

Install Unciv via Flatpak (flatpak install flathub io.github.yairm210.unciv).
Launch the game.
Start a new game.
Notice that the resource icons are displayed as white squares.

Additional Information

tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game multiple times.
cleared the configuration files and cache related to the game.
updated my system and all dependencies to the latest versions.
checked the logs for any errors but did not find any relevant ones.
