Since I updated Ayon's openpype from 3.17.6 to 3.17.7, I cannot export Alembic files anymore (as part of the Blender publishing process).
There are no validation problems at all, but Blender (and the Launcher) crashes at the end of publishing.
When I revert to 3.17.6, everything works again.
My only workaround for now is to disable Extract ABC when publishing.
Ayon's openpype 3.17.6 works all right with Blender 3.3 LTS (Long Time Support, released a year ago).
Ayon's openpype 3.17.7 crashes with Blender 3.3 LTS, but works with Blender 4.0.
Expected Behavior:
Blender 3.3 should be able to publish.
Version
3.17.7-nightly.5
What platform you are running OpenPype on?
Windows
Steps To Reproduce:
From inside Blender 3.3, try to publish a Model.
Are there any labels you wish to add?
I have added the relevant labels to the bug report.
Blender 3.3 should be supported (not only recent versions), because a lot of studios that have in-house Blender plugins don't update Blender very often, and Blender 3.3 was released only a year ago.
Long story short it looks like it crashes because it is using Qt dialog (with exec_). Maybe we should not use Qt to show the error message? I'm not familiar with blender, so hard to tell for me.
I actually don't think it would - since the Qt widgets I believe are set to "float on top" any Blender button would still pop-up behind the existing Qt dialogs. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting what it would solve.
Blender has advanced many versions and AYON has seen many updates since - including Qt version changes. I'll close this, if similar issues appear in ayon-blender please open an issue there.
Is there an existing issue for this?
