Please describe the feature you have in mind and explain what the current shortcomings are?

we need the ability to create folders for production,

similar we have for track

if implemented as webaction should/could this be a separate addon?

How would you imagine the implementation of the feature?

And not just the folders on the server, as that could be simple to just run a little python script that fills the folders. I think Roy had allready made this (#679)

But even more importand is the folder and asset creation setup in the editor.
We've a specific way in which we create every show again and again.

We can do this 2 ways in my opinion.
Or we have a standard in the core or anotomy settings that will automaticly spawn all the folders and assets as soon as you create a project.

But probably more flexible is that we can save and create presets that we can add from the editor.
So if we've a project for an Virtual Production job, we can spawn other folders etc then for an VFX or AR job.

Just wanted to +1 👍 this - being able to just throw in a "preset" hierarchy structure would be very nice.

This ticket may need to move to ayon-frontend however for @Innders (or split up into two) with one being the core (desktop) feature to create folders on disk and separating the request for quickly creating a default project structure or hierarchy presets on the web frontend.

I feel like this issue now focuses on the latter, being able to create folder structures quickly on the web frontend.

This is definitely on our road map and will probably be in the redesign of the editor. Further to having templates I think having copy/paste abilities would be extremely useful as well.
