This may be superseded by "Generic ROP publishing" where essentially any ROP-like node could be made into a publishable node - which means that #2 may fix this issue.
Of course, even then it may be worth investigating whether a dedicated AYON Cache HDA is worth it - but at the same time, many studios may already be rolling their own or be using the Houdini LABs filecache node, etc.
