type: enhancement
Improvement of existing functionality or minor addition
Please describe the enhancement you have in mind and explain what the current shortcomings are?
I would like you to write a python script that will “open” specific maya scene in mayapy mode, check if all the version are “latest” and if not it update imported assets(camera, models, render settings,..) at the latest version. Once its done it saves the maya scene as next version.
This script will be mainly used for updating model, camera, animation (abc/point cache), look, and render settings. So you can ignore for now the other options if it adds complexity into the script.
It would be great if we can “somehow’ say to the script that we don't want to update specific assets within the scene and this assets should will be not updated if the script find this “flag” for specific asset in the scene. For example I say I dont want to update this geometry even it is not the newest version. What would you suggest it will be easier things to make this assets “invisible” for the autoupdate script?
Final script should work something like this: mayapy.exe autoupdater.py \storage05\incomming\ayon_general\test_v001.ma
How would you imagine the implementation of the enhancemenent?
