From the v2 specs:

This specification is the latest version. See v3 for previous versions.

Is v3 before v2?

no, v3 is not before v2. I'm not sure why that link is rendering this way, going by the raw spec document, that link should point to the zarr-specs github page I think?

in any case, the statement "this specification is the latest version" is false or confusing, no matter where that link points.
