What happened?

First off, I want to say I'm really enjoying Zen Mods! They're a fantastic feature and really enhance the browsing experience. However, I've run into a small issue while using them. It seems some Zen Mod customization are sticking around even after I delete or disable the mod, or even disable Zen Mods entirely in the browser settings. It's like they've made themselves a permanent home in my profile!

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Have fun customizing the browser with various Zen Mods. They're great!
  2. Try deleting or disabling some of those Zen Mods.
  3. Notice that some customization are still active, even after they should be gone.
  4. Disable Zen Mods entirely in the browser settings.
  5. Notice that some customization are still active, even after they should be gone.

Expected Behavior:
When I delete or disable a Zen Mod, or disable Zen Mods entirely in settings, I'd expect all the related customization to go away completely, like they were never there.

Actual Behavior:
Unfortunately, some Zen Mod customization seem to be a bit stubborn and stick around even after I try to remove them.

Workaround:
The only way I've found to get rid of these persistent customization is to create a brand new browser profile. Just reinstalling the browser doesn't do the trick because the user data (with the persistent customization) stays put.

Additional Information:

  • I wish I had noted down exactly which Zen Modes caused this issue when it happened. I didn't record them at the time, so I unfortunately can't provide specific names right now. However, I will certainly make a note of it if it happens again.
  • It looks like this might be related to how certain Zen Mods are implemented, as it doesn't happen with all of them.
  • It important if the browser had a solid way to completely detach Zen Mod customization when they're deleted or disabled.
  • A "reset Zen Mods" button in the settings would be an awesome way to quickly resolve this and make things even easier for users.

Thanks for all your hard work on the browser. Keep up the great work!

Reproducible?

  • I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
