I was wondering whether there is any information regarding the height of the camera with respect to the floor.
I am aware that there are calibrations of the LiDAR & Front Camera with respect to the EGO Axis, located on the Chassis and aligned vertically with the Rear Axle. Nevertheless, as the Rear Axle is not in ground level, I do not find any info I could potentially use to obtain the camera height.
I need the camera height to train a 3D Lane Detection algorithm that uses this metric to understand the 3D Scene around the car.
Thank you in advance!

Hi, good question. I don’t believe this data is available anywhere directly. My suggestion would be to estimate the ground plane around the vehicle using the lidar data and calculate the height of the camera above this plane. Sorry that we can’t help you directly.
If you do calculate it, it would be very valuable for future reference if you could post the code snippet and/or found camera height.
We had the same idea, because I was already trying this approach for the different collection vehicles. I think I will get a pretty much OK approximation!
