Current Build Photos

There are a number of pictures that will be posted here as the My100 becomes a reality. As this is Alpha quality, buyer beware.

Wiring Begins

OK, my eyes are no longer what they used to be. I forgoed crimping wires to the JST-XH connectors myself. Instead I bought ready made connectors and will solder them together.

Latest Assembly of the Frame. Alpha-3

Looking good! There is enough to get started on the wiring and configuration of the octopus. See Changelog for more build details.

Third Assembly of the Frame. Alpha-2

Some parts are just placed in the picture. It certainly is beginning to look like a 3D printer.

Second Assembly of the Frame. Alpha-1

The frame is looking much better. It's almost perfect but not quite. The incorrect holes were filled and machined again.
I've identified screw collisions. I thought this was going to happen. I did not need CAD to see it was going to be so. I'll update the CAD files for a fix.
The frame is sitting flatly on an old TV stand in my computer room and no longer in the shop. Progress!

The First Assembly of the Frame

Did I tell you I'm in Canada? Well my CNC spindle does not like the cold. Neither do I actually. Working with metal at -10 degrees Celcius or 14 degrees Fahrenheit is no fun. All in all though, not a bad first try. I'll probably fill at least one of the vertical supports and try again.

The First Metal Frame CNC Photos

The frame is designed so that the drill holes can be made with a drill press as previously mentioned; However, since I have a large CNC that I built years ago, the following are the first images of the front side of the Front Left Vertical support being CNC'd.

The Belt Tensioners

The Belt Tensioners were printed. It was easier to replicate the100 belt tensioners. Like the My100 Gantry, steal 5mm shafts were used and idler pulleys to decrease the noise I heard from just using M5 bolts..

The Gantry Blocks

The Gantry Blocks were printed. This is in accordance with the100. Printing it reduces the weight which increases how fast the gantry blocks can be moved.

The Bed

The Bed was printed. This turned out to be costly and if I were to change this, I would CNC it instead; But don't the colors look pretty :-)

The Metal

All but the mid rear rail has been cut to size here.
