Rewards
When a player wins a Minigame, they can be awarded for doing so. The reward system in Minigames has been updated in 1.6.0 to allow for more customisable rewards, as apposed to the original system that only allowed one reward and could not be easily enchanted. There are two types of reward, primary and secondary. Primary rewards are only given to the player on their first completion of the Minigame. Secondary rewards are given to the player every time they win after their initial completion. Secondary rewards are usually set lower than the primary, as completing a Singleplayer game (for example) is usually easier once you know how to play it.
One of the new features of 1.6.0 is reward rarity. Multiple items or money can be added to the rewards with varying rarities, ranging from very common to very rare. The easiest way to modify rewards rarity is via the Minigame menu. Although the rarity can be set initially via the reward command.
/minigame set <Minigame> reward add <ItemName> <Rarity>
Rarity | Chance (%) |
---|---|
Very Common | 50% |
Common | 25% |
Normal | 15% |
Rare | 8% |
Very Rare | 2% |
Rarity only works if there are multiple items. For example, if there were only one item with a rarity of Very Rare, the player would always get it, because there is no other reward to give. However, if there is a common and a very rare, the player is more likely to get the common item over the very rare item. If the reward contains multiple items of the same rarity, one of the items in that rarity will be randomly selected and given to the player.
Multiple items can also be rewarded to a player. These are given in what are called Reward Groups. These can only be created via the Minigame menu. Reward groups contain a single rarity on themselves and act as if they were a single item. If it is selected via the random rarity selection, all items in its group will be given to the player.
