The page is currently a simple list of the sub-pages. Can this be made more informative and useful?

This issue was extracted from #723.

Thanks for being willing to help out. Go for it.

This question in this issue is Can this page be made more informative and useful? Maybe a good first step is to ask what informative and useful means, and evaluate whether the page meets those criteria. If not, then some brainstorming could be useful around how it can be improved. That would be my suggestion, but feel free to take your own approach.

I am writing about the getting started page here

kindly feel free to go through it and give feedback

I approached the task by reviewing each section and writing a brief overview that highlights the main points discussed on those pages. My goal was to paraphrase the content in a way that gives readers a glimpse of what each section covers. I also made sure that the content was informative.

This builds on the work done by @Brendaoduor in her Google Doc. I tweaked it a little bit further to make the text more about what the reader takeaways are in general, rather than summarizing the page content directly. I also tried to keep it very approachable. Curious what others think of this.

Hi @Brendaoduor. Sorry for the extreme delay. I just caught up with this issue. The text in the Google Doc seems to have been removed, but is still in the file history. I took the liberty of taking your text and iterating it a bit further (via AI) with two goals:

  • Ensure it is an easy read
  • Focus on the general takeaway and why it matters to designers, rather than summarizing the page content

I created the PR #1157 for this change, you can see the preview here. What do you think?

Hi christoph. I will take a look at the document. And i agree with your suggestion. At the end it needs to resonate more to anyone who wants to contribute as a designer. I will make the changes.

I appreciate the feedback.

Hi Brenda, no need for updating the document anymore. Your review on the PR I created would be fantastic. Please see #1157 .
