As an evolution of my first art deco web radio project, I have used a short cut for audio output. Instead of an mp3 board and an analogue amplifier, an I2S MAX98357 module is used. While only mono, a much better speaker is installed.
Hardware:
- ESP32 board (Node32s)
- 1.44" TFT Display ST7735
- I2S MAX98357 Audio Amplifier module
- Visaton VIS FR 10-4 Speaker - 10cm Diameter, 4 Ohm
- KY-040 Rotary Encoder, 2x
- Rotary Switch 2x4
3D Drawings:
- FreeCAD, stl and gcode files for 3D printer and CNC mill.
- Youtube Video: https://youtu.be/_6iPY7xaFOc
- Youtube Video CNC milling: https://youtu.be/6EEB7OiYMUE
Build:
- The design of the enclosure is based on the Philco 45C radio from 1935
- The enclosure is made out of MDF, thin birch plywood, walnut and maple veneer.
- All parts were milled on my Sainsmart CNC 3018 PROVER
- For the finish I used shellac
- Th knobs and the bezel are 3D printed
