Security
It is important for the RFID System to be secure so as to prevent intruders or those with malicious intentions from entering our Makerspace.
Physical Security
One aspect of security is the physical system's strength and ability to be a real-life firewall.
The Keypad on the front door is mounted on the outside and is quite sturdy. The Wemos and more sensitive electronics are on the inside, and they control a motor to help resist entry.
Virtual Security
Another important aspect of security is resistance to online attacks or attempted system takeovers.
Any piece of code having to deal with SQL (fobber) has been sanitized to avoid someone from escaping a string and entering commands.
The system is to be hosted on a separate, more secure WiFi.
Fobber (the software to control the Makerspace RFID modules) requires a login and plans are being made for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
