Fuzzy Stats

Many strengths and weaknesses of a choice can be expressed in numbers. A weapon that the player can equip can have a numeric attack power value, allowing him to easily pick the strongest weapon in his inventory.

Often though, some advantage or weakness is not easily expressible in a numeric value, and the player has to test in actual gameplay before he can assess the value of the choice.

Examples

  • While weapon damage is often numeric, the reach, windup, swing arc and post-attack delay of a weapon is not.
  • Many side-effects of attacks can be advantageous (like freezing you airborne in the air during the attack)
