Is there only one .ts to translate ( master/lisp/i18n/lisp_it_IT.ts ) or are there more files?
I would like to translate it to Slovenian (sl_SI)

@miharix can you give an approximate ETA for the translation?

I'll try to do it till 11.09.16.
This week it's school start in our country so I have little more stuff to do at job and home.
Great idea to use transiflex. That will make translating faster.

@tornel done 😄 Thanks!!!

Great! Do as you prefer, but marking them as "reviewed" is a good way to communicate that the translation it's ready to be included.

@FrancescoCeruti

@miharix Are the translations ready to be included or you need to review them?

They should be ready. But I didn't had time to test them.

Ok, when you think they're ok let me know, or mark them as "reviewed".
Thanks 😄

Hi I was about to start translating LiSP to french but the language is not available. I've used the Request Language action on Transifex but it doesn't seem to work (Could not complete language request action. Please try again.). @FrancescoCeruti can you manually add fr_FR to the list of languages on Tx?

@FrancescoCeruti

Strange ... anway, done :)

The 4/5 of october (after some 🍺), I'm going to release the new version, in which I will include the completed translation, even if not reviewed.

hey! I just completed a french translation. BUT it will most definitely need review and corrections.

@aroomthedoomed : I can offer a French translation review as soon as the file is committed to the github repo since I don't have an account on transifex nor do I want to have one. Please, ping me when it's ready.

as soon as the file is committed to the github repo

sorry. I don't know how to do that myself. maybe Francesco can help

since I don't have an account on transifex

I just did one using my github account

nor does I want to have one

me neither at first, but seems like a good tool to translate the soft and help the project. didn't understand the "try for free" things though

Re: Transifex, yes, but no. :)

I'll wait for @FrancescoCeruti to commit the translation on github, or maybe someone else will review the translation before me and that'd be good. Up to you guys.

@aroomthedoomed @trebmuh Thanks :-)

@trebmuh see this new branch I've committed the translation in, when you have done, create a pull-request on that branch.

I've update the source files on transifex and on the git master, those files should be definitive for the next release (unless someone notice some error in the original strings) 😄

OK. I'll update till end of this week. Thanks for remembering.
One more... maybe I missed... Is it possible to select the language in the program? Like If I have a PC that it's locale is set to ANG but I would like to use player in other language.

@FrancescoCeruti

👍 great

Is it possible to select the language in the program?

Not from the UI, but you can launch it with --locale <locale> to use a different one, for example --locale fr

Hi all, I'm testing a new translation workflow via crowdin, which allow a better integration with github, and vcs in general, allowing to track multiple branches at the same time.

Right now I've added only the develop branch, the plan is to have both, develop and master.
I'd like to have some feedback, so I can decide if it's worth :)

Here the link to join the translations team, it's possible to login via github, google and others: https://crwd.in/linux-show-player

as you can see at #123 a pull-request is automatically created with the new translations

Hello @FrancescoCeruti ,
I would like to work on translations in Arabic but I can't find the folder Arabic.
It is possible to have the Arabic language please ?
Thank you.

FrancescoCeruti commented Mar 13, 2019

Hi, you should use https://crowdin.com/project/linux-show-player for new translations, if possible, I've added Arabic as an option.
If you prefer offline/manual translations let me know that I'll explain how to it

Keep in mind that the UI is build with a LTR (left-to-right) approach, it may need some changes to accomodate a RTL (right-to-left) language.

Hi, I would like to contribute to the LISP translations. How can I do it? I am interested in the translation into Catalan and I can help with Spanish translation.

@FrancescoCeruti
Copy link
Owner Author

Hi, you can start by taking a look at this page, where you can find some general indication on the process.
Keep in mind that new translations to date, to be included, should use the development version of the application, as a starting point, mainly because of the large amount of changes. If you have any question let me know :)

I did the Catalan translation in the version 5.3 and now I see that in version 6.0 the files for the Catalan translation have disappeared.
What happened?

What happened?

Lost during the 0.6 merge, sorry. I've added them back in the develop branch, here 4d65a59
