LibertySoil is a purpose-built crowdsourcing engine. Like Turing's machine was made to crack Enigma - we are building a software systems and tools to advance change in world's education systems.
We aim to supply processes such as social innovation and social activism, development and implementation of human rights and liberties, scientific discovery.
Our v.1 was a proof of concept that we are re-working currently into an open (and open source) full-scale social platfom.
LibertySoil is not supposed to have a single core - one overarching idea, service or model of work. We aim to make experience, accumulated in best schools and education environments visible and easy to replicate, spread, learn from.
To do that we will need to service schools, students, parents and anyone working in learning environments with practical solutions to their everyday problems. We want to develop better suited, better adapted to the case of education experiences - but remain collaborative and open, form one-way partner relationships through integration and openness.
Our priority areas are:

Serving people opening new education alternatives, schools, homeschooling centres, playgrounds, working at refugee camps with children. Any new learning environment being set up has a chance to avoid making the known mistakes, follow the trajectory of development that is better adapted to child's best interest, supports child rights better, is done with socio-emotional development of the child in mind, is guidelined by child psychology and not totalitarian, authoritarian pattern of thought. Liberating the child is most effectively achieved while starting new schools.

Serving activists (parents, students, teachers) within existing schools that are determined to change their learning environment, bring in evidence-based approach and apply global experience critically, protect rights and best interest of their children, re-gain the right of consent even for practices that have been around since forever. We are only parents, caring for our children - and we want to empower other parents to care for the best interest of their child too.

Gathering and structuring information about the state of education globally. We want to have all schools in the world in our database. We want to know everything that can be known about those schools - in a way that protects them and is safe to implement to the best of our knowledge. We aim for unknown unknowns in all possible education futures and our platform design is a manifestation of hope, of trust in the nature of children, in the nature of men.
Diversity, collaboration, scientific scepticism, equality and a philosophy of naïve humanism in a broad sense - are all in our foundation of values we hope to live by and implement practically within LibertySoil.org
