MarkEdit is a free and open-source Markdown editor, for macOS. It's just like TextEdit on Mac but dedicated to Markdown.

MarkEdit is dead simple, you should be able to use it without learning anything. However, we still made a User Manual in case there are some hidden and nice features that are hard to discover.

Sorry, no concrete plan yet. Even though most of the code works on both macOS and iOS flawlessly, we wanted to only focus on Mac and bring the best experience there.
We know CodeMirror (the underlying text edit component we use) supports RTL, but we can only focus on languages we read, and right now we don't have bandwidth to test other languages, sorry.
MarkEdit is licensed under the MIT license, with the aim of making life easier for everyone.
In theory, the code is free to use and modify, provided you include proper credits. However, we would appreciate contributions back to the community. For example, releasing this app on the Mac App Store for $1.99 without adding any real value would be inappropriate (see #790).
We reserve the right to adopt a stricter license if misuse occurs in the future.
