TOTK Optimizer Wiki

Purpose of This Project

  • This project is primarily made for the purpose of Optimizing and Improving TOTK's Graphical fidelity and performance for emulation but also works on the switch.
  • This project primarily focuses on the mod called "UltraCam" made by MaxLastBreath. This mod's primarily developed as a Graphical fidelity mod but also a dedicated freecam mod and lots of other things. The Development of this mod and the optimizer can directly be supported by donating to Kofi/Patreon and also access to some cutting edge features early.
  • As I'm the only developer of the Optimizer and UltraCam, development is slow and can take a while to push new updates, time is an issue, the complexity of the UltraCam mod takes a long time to develop.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Stuck on loading/Black Screen on Yuzu/Suyu ETC.

    1. Easiest solution is to use Ryujinx, as Ryujinx/Switch doesn't have that issue.
    2. Right Click on Tears of The Kingdom, select remove Installed UPDATE. Top Left Install To Nand and re-select your update file. This should fix the issue.
    3. If it continues to happen, you have broken key files. Consider re-dumping your key files.
    4. Make sure 6GB or 8GB dram is enabled in your emulator if using resolution over 1080p.

  • Ryujinx Crashing..

    1. Check if you have "Use Alternative Layout (Developers)" Enabled. Under System settings.

  • X Cheat doesn't work etc.

    • I don't maintain the cheats as they weren't created by me, some of the emulators cannot read cheats correctly too.

  • Mod not applied to Emulator.

    • If you have a portable Emulator, make sure to click on Browse Executable.
    • Ensure to Click Switch to Ryujinx at the top to apply mods to Ryujinx.

  • How do i get this to work on Switch?

    1. Press Extract button.
    2. Select Switch Preset top left.
    3. Copy files from !!!TOTK Optimizer folder into atmosphere/content/titleID

  • How to get this to work on Steamdeck/Linux?

    1. Download .AppImage file.
    2. Right click properties -> run as executable
    3. Usually press Apply for Yuzu/Ryujinx.
    4. If that doesn't work, use the dedicated extract button.

  • Launch button doesn't work/Do I need to launch through the Optimizer?

    • The launch button is only there for convenience when testing.
    • No, you can just launch your emulator as usual.

  • WHY UPSCALING 1X on EMU?

    • This is not a bug, the mod makes the game run at internal resolution, so upscaling 2x 4K would be 8k RES.
