Thaumic Augmentation FAQ

These are some common questions that people often have after installing the mod.

How do I apply augments to casting gauntlets?

Simply craft the augment with the gauntlet in any crafting grid. If it still doesn't work, see the next FAQ entry.

I can't add an augment to a gauntlet!

Make sure the following applies:

  • If using the modular augments, make sure you have crafted the modifier with an effect crystal (the item should be called a "Modular Augment")
  • At this time, augments can only be applied to Thaumic Augmentation casters (the Thaumium and Void gauntlets). This may or may not change in the future.
  • Ensure that you are not attempting to have multiple augments of the same type on a single caster, AND you are not attempting to add a modular augment with a modifier that is already present on the caster.
    • Example: you cannot have 2 Impetus Conductors or 2 modular augments that both have experience modifiers, but you can have an augment with an experience modifier and cast speed effect with an augment with a dimensional modifier and a cast speed effect.
    • This still applies with Elemental Resonators, even if they have different Aspects.

I tried to enter a Dimensional Fracture, but it's not working...

  • Make sure the fracture is open - use a casting gauntlet with an attached and charged Impetus Conductor augment on the fracture to open it.
  • Make sure the fracture was naturally generated - although it is possible to set up custom fractures with some NBT manipulation, just using /summon to make one won't work.
    • There is now a command to make linked fractures - /ta makefracture
  • Because fractures randomly pick dimensions to link to, adding/removing a mod that includes a dimension (that is also present in the config under "fracturedimlist") may cause fractures to not link. However, fractures that have never been used before will attempt to relink themselves.
  • If a fracture is somehow removed, the fracture it was linked to will no longer work. This should be impossible to do without commands - if it does happen in survival play, consider reporting it as a bug.

I placed an Arcane Door or Warded Chest down, and I can't break it!

To remove the permanently warded objects (which includes everything except the ward focus), sneak and interact (right click) with any caster on the object. For Arcane Doors, this must be on the bottom of the door.
