## Note on using the SDL_Workshop queue on Polaris
Balsam includes configuration details for multiple systems, including ALCF's Polaris, ThetaGPU, and Theta, as well as systems at other facilities. For each system, these details include available queues and their limits. If you are working within the SDL_Workshop queues, you'll need to edit the settings.yml file included in your Balsam Site directory, to include the following in the scheduler.allowed_queues section:

```
# Scheduler service syncs the Balsam API with local queues
scheduler:
scheduler_class: balsam.platform.scheduler.PBSScheduler
sync_period: 10 # Scheduler polling / API update interval in seconds
# Configure the queues to which BatchJobs may be submitted at this Site
allowed_queues:
debug:
max_nodes: 2
max_queued_jobs: 100
max_walltime: 60
prod:
max_nodes: 496
max_queued_jobs: 100
max_walltime: 1440
# Add these lines
SDL_Workshop:
max_nodes: 1
max_queued_jobs: 100
max_walltime: 60
```

## Next Steps
The examples above demonstrate the basic functionality of Balsam: defining applications, describing jobs, submitting batch jobs to run those jobs, and monitoring throughput, on one site or across multiple sites. With these capabilities, we can define more complex workflows that dynamically adapt as jobs run. For a more detailed application, see the [hyperparameter optimization example](https://github.com/argonne-lcf/balsam_tutorial/tree/main/hyperopt) in the ALCF github repository.
