ansible-role-remove-python2

An Ansible role for removing all Python 2 packages on all distributions other than Amazon Linux 2. Python 2 is preserved on Amazon Linux 2 because its outdated yum command requires Python 2.

Installation

This role can be installed via the command:

ansible-galaxy install --role-file path/to/requirements.yml

where requirements.yml looks like:

---
- name: remove_python2
  src: https://github.com/cisagov/ansible-role-remove-python2

and may contain other roles as well.

Example Playbook

Here's how to use it in a playbook:

- hosts: all
  become: true
  become_method: sudo
  tasks:
    - name: Remove Python 2
      ansible.builtin.include_role:
