About the pull request

This PR is an alternative to #8303, and uses some code from that PR.

The main difference between this PR and that one is:

Wherever a weapon was removed, it was replaced with a new, less strong weapon.
Wherever a weapon was removed, so was it's ammo.
The flamethrowers on all maps were not removed
The IMS' on all maps were not removed
Booze vendors now spawn with significantly less bottles in them(uses the same system as weymeds.)
Removed some OP gear that nivrak missed.
Didn't touch the out of rotation maps.

I spent a pretty long time testing various weapons that are available to survs, and went through each (in rotation) map and replaced OP/broken weapons with weapons that are good, but not better than their marine equivalent.

also it's always bothered me that solaris has no dead WY management since they are a valuable RP prop, so now one spawns in admin.

Explain why it's good for the game

Survs have a lot of dumb OP stuff that encourages people to roll it to snag the loot and be LRP pfc+s once the round begins proper, this is not desirable, however I believe #8303 made some changes that were overall detrimental to the experience and removed things that did not warrant removal, such as flamethrowers, which provide a valuable niche to deterring certain types of xenomorphs, and come with limits that in my opinion make it balanced, as well as removing items a-la the IMS, which are generally harmless in terms of direct gameplay impact, are available to marines via research, and in my opinion offer a "cool" factor to exploring the maps. I told the author as much but I suspect they were so inundated with people pinging them with cope they simply didn't parse it, which is understandable, so I'm making an alternate PR.

Yeah don't remove those gloves, I wanted them on the map for a reason, and they're not OP by any definition, just a cool little thing.

Lungemines also are hard to get on all the maps they spawn on, don't even one-shot anymore and leave you stunned and damaged, so you're pretty much killing yourself using one, have you not tested them recently? They aren't worth using other then if you want to suicide in a funny way.

Also the MAR50's are literally the only reason the CLF holds last longer then 5 minutes, you're instantly thrown into a defensive hold, so using them is necessary, and it just makes it boring without it.

Other then that, this is a much improved version of Nivraks, at least you've taken into consideration of replacing all these spots with other guns (although you should be more creative and add more interesting replacements perhaps), so it's not just a complete butchering. You didn't remove necessary guns like the Type 71 on Soro, since that's literally the only guns you can get apart from shotguns and if you get lucky with those two crates.

if I remember I'll make a subtype with marine stats

I don't care one way or another about these but they are kinda an LRP meme item. If you get a maintainer opinion they should stay I will put them back.

make a PR to nerf its stats and add it back later

gun replacements were boring because I based them off comparative TTK on a drone and defender target, I tested every pistol, rifle, shotgun and SMG in the game and grouped them by TTK & subjective "vibe" of effectiveness. There's actually just not that many guns in the game that are even remotely balanced for surv use.

the type 71s were removed but replaced with Mar40s, mar40 is mid but the ammo is plentiful, would've done M16s but it felt thematically off.

not gonna get into the balance weeds any further but:

re: the other guy talking about the FP9000 I generally also thought it was shit until I tried it in my testing range and found it was one of the quickest killing, highest AP guns on any map that survs can get. who would've thought

feel free to ping me on discord if you have concerns or suggestions, or use the forum feedback system, as again, balance discussions are not for the github page.

Better loot on the big red SW caves was made as an incentive for survs to take a huge risk to get some blackmarket stuff.

You can literally get armored gloves from any Goon and better ones from PMC's.

Better loot on the big red SW caves was made as an incentive for survs to take a huge risk to get some blackmarket stuff.

Yeah, makes it utterly pointless ever going to mining, and might as well delete it. Shame.

There's like 2 problems with survs, we do not need to triple down on nerfing everything remotely interesting on colonies.
