GSoC 2021 :: Project Ideas

Commudle

Commudle is an ecosystem for Software Developers and Developer Communities to share knowledge, network and grow together. The front end of our code is based on Angular 11+ and is completely open sourced. We are constantly evolving as a project and adding more features which would add value to Developers.

Getting Started

New contributors should go through the Readme. It has the links to Contribution Guidelines and Code of Conduct. Here are the prerequisites before you setup the code on your system from the steps in Readme:

  • Intermediate Proficiency: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Understanding of common terms like API’s, request, response, server, front-end
  • Beginner Proficiency: TypeScript, Angular 2+ If you do not know Angular but are familiar with Web Development, you can easily learn it here: Angular Tutorial and then setup the code on your system.

It is a good idea to start with some beginner issues which can be found on THIS LINK

Projects

We are excited to have more folks from open source work with us on building impactful features. Here is a list of the project ideas we have from our roadmap and feedbacks of existing users. Please keep in mind that these are ideas, you can modify/improve them or come up with something completely new in your proposal for solving or building this GSoC. For the projects which involve design inputs, we do have a UX Expert Mentor with us who will be helping us out in this journey.

But, don't limit yourself to these ideas, Commudle is a platform from and for Software Developers. Any feature which you feel can provide value to fellow developers, we'd love to hear you and build it together. Be sure to use gsoc2021 tag while creating an issue with a new idea.

For any help, feel free to mail to [email protected] and we will add you to our slack channel.

All The Best!
