Pre-Release 5.2

Windows Installer Instructions:

1. If you installed an older version of the game, uninstall it and delete any leftovers in the folder (mods, etc.)
2. Download Cortex.Command.Installer.exe and run it. Follow the installer's instructions, make sure you install to a non-protected folder (i.e. not Program Files) and do NOT install it on top of an old version of the game (Steam or an older CCCP version).
3. Enjoy the game!

Zip Instructions:

1. Download attached Cortex.Command.Windows.zip if you're on Windows or Cortex.Command.Linux.zip if you're on Linux..
2. Extract the downloaded zip to some non-protected folder (i.e. not Program Files) using your favourite archive program (winzip, winrar, 7zip, etc.). Do NOT put it on top of an old version of the game (Steam or an older CCCP version).
3. If updating from Pre5.0, you can copy your Userdata.rte folder over to this version to keep your settings and saves.
4. Enjoy the game!

Note: If you have an older version of the game (before Pre-Release 5.0), your Settings.ini will probably be invalid. If you'd like to keep any settings from it, you'll have to manually copy the lines you want over.

Instructions for Macs: The game works on Mac, but it's not in a release-ready format. If you want to play on Mac, it'll take a bit of work:

1. Download one of the other versions (e.g. Linux)
2. Get the Mac executable from the source Releases page here (it's the file called CortexCommand).
3. Follow the readme instructions to install Mac dependencies here
4. Run the CortexCommand executable through your terminal, since double-clicking it doesn't work.
5. Make sure you allow it to run in your Security & Privacy System Preferences. Note that the first time you run the game it will throw out an error about being unable to create Settings.ini. Run it again and it should be fine.
