Thanks @cbouss for this. How can we be sure this won't break anything? I'm not familiar with versionneer at all. |

I dont think the failures are related to this change. I'm happy with the versioneer and pre-commit changes. But @guillaumeeb if you could pull the trigger just to make sure you're happy going ahead despite the SGE failure. |

The current version of versionneer is not compatible with latest python. This brings versioneer up-to-date.
