I'm on the fence about this again after discovering that YouTube doesn't have a dedicated send button for its live chat. Maybe it isn't the best idea to have yet another icon crowded around the chat input and we should leave things as is.
I know it doesn't quite align with your reasons for making this PR, but #455 seems tangentially related. It alleviates user misunderstanding regarding the behavior of the Enter button.
