Implementation of an app to capture photos and add to a gallery. I was not clear on the requirements and potentially made the UI more complex than desired/needed. The requirements implied having a navigation view with buttons on the bottom that are always visible. I ended up creating a navigation controller with the camera and gallery buttons at the root level. Select camera to take a picture. Select gallery to display photos taken. From a UX perspective, I think it would be preferable for the app to start in the gallery with a camera button always available. There would never be a need for the gallery button. Taking a photo takes you to the gallery. When the app starts it starts at the gallery. Cancelling taking a photo could go back to the gallery. The background thread resizing of the image happens so quickly on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air that it is not noticable that a placeholder image is briefly displayed. There is a commented out 1 second timer in AppDelegate.processImage to make the placeholder visible. Written using Xcode 8.3 beta. Swift language has changed, improved in some respects. Compiler is significantly more stable. Now has incremental build to speed it up. I've experienced an iOS 8 bug on both my iPad and iPhone 6. In iMessage, if you take one photo it works ok. Second photo shows up with a black screen, ie no connection to camera but the frame is there. This bug has been present since the betas and still not fixed. I'm running into the same issue in this app. Second attempt to take a picture with iOS 8.1 shows a black screen, but you can still take the picture. Every other attempt displays a black screen. I attempted various things to work around it mentioned online but none worked. App is portrait only. Landscape support would require modification to gallery to change the size of the image views, their locations and navigation. Most of the code is in the GalleryViewController. I've written something similar for a previous project, eCat. That code didn't use UIScrollView at all and did it all natively/manually. Somewhat easier this time but still lots of special cases and edge cases. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't use a storyboard and would have a single gallery view as the base, displaying camera as modal view and login as modal view. Login saves successful login to UserDefaults. After initial successful login it skips login prompt. Need to uninstall the app and reinstall if you'd like to try the login page. Thats about all the notes I can think of. Enjoy
