zap2epg Configure Settings and Options - Options

Options

The Options category contains the following options:

Number of Days to Download

  • Set the number of days of guide data you wish to download (1 to 14 days)

Number of Days to Delete Cache (re-download)

  • Set the number of days to redownload data from zap2it. (0 to 14)
  • This option allows to redownload to TBA events. Especially useful for sporting tournament events.

Download Extra Details

  • Turn this on to download the program original air date, genre, cast information and series logo
  • This option adds additional downloads - so it will take longer to generate the xmltv.xml file

Append Extra Details to Description

  • This option will append additional information to the program plot description
  • This is useful for skins that don't display all the information you'd like to see in your epg
  • To review the extra details that can be appended - jump to the X-Details Order category

Include Episode Thumbnail

  • This will add the episode/series thumbnail to the xmltv.xml file for each program
  • You can choose from episode, series or none

Include Episode Genres (colored EPG grid)

  • This will add the genre information to the xmltv.xml file for each program
  • You can choose from:
    • Full - advanced genre mapping based on genres listed in zap2it and mapped to tvheadend genres
    • Simple - attempt to match as many tvheadend genres as possible in order to fully colorize the epg in kodi
    • Original - include only the original genre information (can pass genre as category for no color on epg in kodi)
  • Requires Download Extra Details to be enabled

Use hex values for genre type instead of textual name

  • This option will use the hex values for Kodi and TVH instead of textual name.
  • Hex values are from the ETSI standard
  • As of right now, TVH (v4.3) does not recognize hex values
