Converting to draft as the issue with {Matrix} requiring R >= 4.4.0 is causing some issues with the package installation for GitHub actions R CMD check. I'll figure out a solution and come back to fix this. |

This PR adds an R CMD check run on GitHub actions on the version of R that is stated in the
DESCRIPTIONas the minimum required version. This will ensure the package works currently on users systems that may be running an older version of R.
