Could you please elaborate on the Gradle API version relationship to the previous failure?

When I trying to see error stacktrace, I noticed that test is failing when gradle task is being executed and the stacktrace was coming from gradle itself:

I suspected jackson version we bumped in java generator gradle plugin might be conflicting with jackson version used internally by gradle, so I tried upgrading gradle version, which seemed to fix the issue.
