Felicity email setup Instructions

#Instructions: This wiki provides instructions for setting up incomming/outgoing felicity.iiit.ac.in emails. Feel free to contact root[at]felicity.iiit.ac.in in case of any issues.

##Incoming Incoming messages are already configured to go into your mailboxes. But felicity.iiit.ac.in domain is notorious for sending Junk / Spam. So, please take some time out, and configure a email filter to always allow incoming from Felicity.

The easist way is to add the account into your address book.

Also, If you find felicity emails ending up in your spam folder, then, please mark them as Not Spam. This will help in not getting the felicity-server tagged as a spammer in future.

##Outgoing

Outgoing is fully authenticated, and only accounts which are valid, can send email from the mail server.

  1. Open Your Email Settings in GMail.

  2. Select The "Accounts And Import" tab. Select "Add another email address you own" in Send Mail as. Image1

  3. Enter the Email and Name. Remember to uncheck "Treat as an Alias". Image2

  4. Enter the settings as shown here. The Port is 25, the SMTP server is felicity.iiit.ac.in, the Username is Your Username. The TLS settings are on Recommended. The password should have been sent to you. Image3

  5. As an additional verification, GMail will send you another email to your felicity.iiit.ac.in account. As mail forwarding is already setup, you should see it in your inbox in minutes. Enter the code which comes in the email / Click on the URL. Image4

  6. Check the page, and ensure that you check the following option. Image4

  7. Congratulations! To send a email from the new email, go to "Compose" and select your email.
