As described in my bug report, I was facing the issue of the SMF not receiving PFCP messages any more when a UPF crashed and I was using a heartbeat interval of 10ms.
I found the issue was with sending to the EventChannel of a transaction, which blocks indefinitely. There is no error thrown, so I suppose it is a concurrency issue here.
I do not know which timeout is best here, I set it to 2s, which might be too much depending on the speed of PFCP messages coming in.
