Fix workflow auto layout when conditionals are used.

This maybe fixed the bug for me - I guess the tests will decided. I reviewed recent relevant PRs and I cannot tell when it broke or why.

From looking at the failing test it looked like making the connection failed ?

I am coming around to the idea that this exception is a red herring. The parameter input type is not switching from text to boolean - so it can never connect to a when.
