 The integration of GenAI in the 2024 course offering was transformative: the instructor spent less time debugging in class, more time discussing ML concepts, the students spent less time stuck on software engineering and formating, more time discussing their data. This acceleration enable students's final project to complete the 3 milestones of the class: AI-ready data, CML, and DL. However, it should be still emphasized that integrating GenAI required a background knowledge in the scientific domain and in programming skills to understand when genAI was correct, useful, and when it failed.
