Transmission are started through

  • Deploying the antennas of the radio truck (Mouse Wheel driver seat)
  • Opening the buyable radio relay terminal (Mouse Wheel)

They can be started anywhere and are instantly marked on the map. The grey area marks the zone you can move around in and still add to the same transmission instance, if you deploy again. The thin outline marks the area you need to leave to start a new transmission. In above screenshot 3 instances are started and distances are only little above the minimum from each other.
