Macos installation issues

daid edited this page Jun 30, 2012 · 3 revisions

Cura is a bit difficult to run native on MacOS at the moment. It is possible, however, it requires that you do some manual installation actions on the command line. As the MacOS version usually contains some MacOS specific bugs some people have more luck with running the Windows version in parallels or a virtual machine.

Simon made some more detailed instructions at: http://www.extrudable.me/2012/06/30/cura_on_mac_os_x/

However the basic instructions to get Cura to work for MacOS are: Open the command line.
Install PyOpenGL: sudo easy_install2.7 PyOpenGL
Install PySerial: sudo easy_install2.7 pyserial
Install the following wxPython version: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wxpython/wxPython2.9-osx-2.9.3.1-cocoa-py2.7.dmg
Run ./cura.sh at the location where you extracted Cura.

Getting a "NotImplementedError"
