ZBlood Vengeance

ZBloody Hell is a Total Conversion of the cult classic Blood (1998) in GZDoom engine by Jeffrey Graham (psyren), Joseph Otey and sluggard. This addon mod by Ermac enhances ZBloody Hell experience in VR.

This mod replaces all weapons for ZBloody Hell mod (https://www.moddb.com/mods/zbloody-hell) with 3D and voxel models to use in VR.

Features

  • Switch between 3D and voxel weapon models anytime
  • Optional voxel addon (thanks to Cheello) to replace more sprite items into voxel
  • Option to disable replacing Doom monsters from Blood (to play Doom levels)
  • Cultist hitscan attacks can be replaced with projectiles
  • Dual wield support (QuestZDoom)
  • Akimbo weapons, ie. weapons on each hand when Akimbo activated (QuestZDoom)
  • Light up Dynamites and Spray-Can like you'd actually do (QuestZDoom)
  • Stab Voodoo doll to hurt monsters with gaze targetting (QuestZDoom)
  • Burn (almost) any monster in any wad with FlareGun, Spray-Can and LifeLeech
  • Additional blood spots on floor (optional)
  • Compatible with Doom/Heretic/Hexen/Strife/Chex iwads (you can play those levels)

Known issues

  • When you run out of main hand weapons but dynamite/voodoo doll you can't switch off-hand weapon

Installation

Load the mods in this order:

  1. ZBLOOD WAD
  2. ZBLOOD VR WEAPONS WAD
  3. ZBLOOD VOXEL WAD (additional voxels by Cheello, optional)

GZDoom VR (PC-VR)

To install:

Extract GZDoom-VR to a folder.
Copy original doom wads into the folder.
Copy this mod into the folder.
Run with gzdoomvr.exe -iwad zbloody_hell.wad -file LATEST_ZBLOOD_MOD LATEST_ZBLOOD_WEAPONS LATEST_ZBLOOD_VOXELS

OR use DoomRunner: https://github.com/Youda008/DoomRunner/releases/latest to load mods with GZDoom

To install:

Copy this mod into /sdcard/QuestZDoom/mods/
Load QuestZDoom Launcher. select this mod along with others mods

Recommended mods to combine with:

  • VR Flashlight:

    • Since the included flashlight has been removed, you are required to use this Flashlight mod instead
  • Hyper-V:

    • Enables a lot of VR focused features such as positional melee attacks and item pulling
  • DamNums:

    • DamNums is a pretty simple concept: shoot monsters and little numbers pop out that tell you how much damage you did
  • Top HP Bars:

    • Really simple mod to add HP bars on top of enemies and players. Performance version is recommended for VR
  • PyWeaponWheel:

    • An excellent and simple weapon wheel to quickly switch between weapons
  • Gearbox:

    • Another excellent weapon wheel but also supports inventory items
