#The Witch of Agnesi easing plugin for jQuery

This plugin adds an easing method to jQuery based on the Witch of Agnesi. Similar to exponential easing, it has has a period of strong acceleration in the middle, but starts and finishes more smoothly. This repository also includes a test page so you compare it against other easing functions.

##Who is the Witch of Agnesi?

Maria Agnesi, for whom the curve was named, was mathematician, philanthropist, and nun. So why is one of her greatest mathematical discoveries refer to her as a witch? Good question. The name "Witch of Agnesi" comes from mistranslation of "The curve of Agnesi".

##Using the plugin

You must first download and include the plugin. It requires that you use jQuery, include them both like this:

You can set the default easing function like this:

$.easing.def = "agnesi";

or just use it like normal:

$("#awesome-thing-that-should-animate").hide(1000, "agnesi");

$("#awesome-thing-that-should-animate").animate({
	opacity: 1
},1000, "agnesi");
