There will be better builds one day.
If you don't care about changing this stuff, you'll just need a suitable GCC cross-compiler (for x86_64-elf), change the build script 'b' appropriately, and it should be alright. You won't need the whole build environment. Binaries for lua and newlib are in the git repo already.
