This will be an attempt at a transcript of the "Future of M2" session at the end of the workshop.
Things to watch out for in M2:
- Finite field GBs in the engine
- Speeding up decompose/primary decomposition
- Speeding up integral closure
- More robust coefficient rings
Wish List:
- Parallel processing!
- How-to add engine code help file
- Video clips for how to build M2 / debug M2 code / or use github with M2
- A way of detecting indecomposable modules? Use NCAlgebra?
- Global table of contents across all known packages. (raise an issue on github for this)
- Engine/interpreter workshop?
- Focused workshops on a particular topic?
