The Accentuate.us Firefox add-on allows you to type quickly and easily in more than 100 languages without extra keystrokes or a special keyboard. It works anywhere on the web: in your blog, web mail, social networking sites, or in online editors like Google Docs.
The latest stable release can be found at http://accentuate.us/get/firefox.
To install from source, edit Makefile and change the profile_dir line to your profile name as listed in the Mozilla Firefox preference directory (example, ~/.mozilla/firefox/ on Linux).
After the makefile is changed, for all systems but Linux: make make install
For Linux: make export OSTYPE make install
The add-on will be available upon a full restart of Firefox.
Under any editable form on a website, type text without accents and open the context menu, navigate to the "Accentuate Text For..." submenu, and select the desired language. The form field will be temporarily disabled and a wait cursor displayed when the cursor is over it until the add-on has received a response from the server or failed.
One major way to contribute to this add-on is by helping us translate it. We manage all translations through Transifex.
