Moving Workout vs Stationary Workout

There is two types of workout that we can group them together: Moving Workout and Stationary Workout.

Moving Workout

It is a type of exercise that acquired some distance and have speed such as cycling, indoor-cycling, running, indoor-running, etc, which a move can be determined by the distance that we acquired and speed that we have. This is our current priority type of workout to handle with care in our app.

Stationary Workout

It is a type of exercise that stay in a place like yoga, strength training, etc, which a move can be determined by body move only if we are using well-suitable device, and it's arguably not something that a GPX and TCX have in the file and we still have no idea how the data being recorded in the FIT file since we have no samples files for this.

For Moving Workout, mostly we only care when we are moving from point A to B (at minimal required speed for particular sport) and this records are what we are after, not when we stay in a place to rest. And for Stationary Workout, in most cases, we can not really determine when we actually moving, we can assume that the entire process is categorised as moving so we can include all records to be calculated.
