TemplateCarriage
Template carriages are the most flexible, and perhaps most expensive, of all the types of carriage. To set them up, first build the shape of the object you want to carry entirely in template carriages. Make sure the place you want to put the carriage drive is accessible. With a screwdriver, right-click on the template carriage next to where the carriage will be. All connected template carriages will be absorbed into the right-clicked carriage and their positions will be recorded. Rebuild the object you want to carry and move it from the carriage that remains.
Sneak-clicking a closed carriage causes the positions it picks up to be marked with ghost carriages.
Template carriages are crafted using purple dye.
Carriages define the shape of blocks to collect.
Sides of a carriage are either open or closed. Only open sides interact with blocks.
Carriages are created by shapelessly crafting one dye with either one or eight carriage frameworks. Carriages can be returned to frameworks by placing them in a crafting table.
Carriages can be decorated - this causes closed sides to take on the appearance of the decoration block.
