Consider LabJack support #61
Comments
It would be cool to mention as a possibility but as Diego has 5 days left with access to the setup I would not necessarily consider trying that implementation... |
No, I did not mean it for now, (the delivery of the Ticks would take longer anyway), but for "selling" the software I think it's a good idea to consider. |
In the sense that the NI interface can be made swappable just as the future camera interface |
Also in this sense some people prefer to use Arduino -- is common in some labs that this is the case. I would suggest leaving this as a possible improvement. I'll be happy if anyone from a lab contacts us asking how to set this up for a jack or for Arduino. Remember that that is the essence of open source ;)! |
I don’t think that arduino supports analog I/o though |
No, arduino would probably not be suitable, or it would require a lot of programming on the Arduino itself, as well as extension boards to have +-10V outputs. Labjacks are not that expensive (I think the ligthsheet can be run with the 200 EUR one, a small amount compared to everything else necessary) |
The galvo/piezo control can probably be done using a single LabJack controller with a few LJTick-DACs. We should investigate how to support this instead of the expensive NI stuff.
