About The Pull Request

I've always been adamant about maps being a form of art. Level design is a long and tedious process that drains creativity out of even the most talented. Frankly it's a miracle that I managed to make so many things, as I am not particularly talented, or otherwise creative.
Maps are art, and I am no longer comfortable with my art being featured in Shiptest. The biggest reason is that I am not willing at the moment to maintain any of it to our very well cultivated quality standards, and unmaintained content is a blight.

Further Explanations
  • The Kansatsu is a small ship with an awkward layout that focuses around a gameplay loop we simply do not have at the moment.
  • The Vela is an overgeared mining generalist only balanced out by the fact that it requires a fairly large crew. Shiptest tends to breakdown at high crew counts. It's layout is also lacking, with the main feature being a central hallway.
  • The Jupiter is a special snowflake ship that serves zero purpose
  • The Chronicle has an extremely awkward layout and doesn't mesh with the rest of SolGov Aesthetically.
  • The pillbottle is just fucking stupid.
  • Knight's Rest is a low quality map that was designed around a perspective we no longer use. There's no loot and no sense of exploration. It's just a Place.
  • Ocean Town suffers from a similar issue, there isn't any substance to it. It just exists
  • Slimelab has a ghostrole.
  • Bombed Starport uses radiation excessively, which requires constant tuning and adjusting, as well as being an untelegraphed danger that is incredibly frustrating to deal with
  • Syndicate bunker is just small and bad. Personally I don't think it fits in the lore any more.
  • Crashed Pinnance is a ruin that's fine enough, but doesn't offer anything except R&D loot.
  • Saloon is a mess of a wooden building that doesn't do anything but offer a mild combat challenge to players, and I am quite unsatisfied with it.
  • Singularity Lab is a massive, massive, broken ruin built around an idea that doesn't quite work out due to requiring admin intervention just about every round it's interacted with (The singularity itself), it's also very easy to game due to the transit tube system running around the asteroid, and right to the loot.
  • Corporate Mining isn't interesting and doesn't fit with new mining
  • The Kunai I will be unable to maintain.
All code contributions and things I have left trailing around are intact, as those are systems that anyone can build on, but I want my levels out. I know we're open source. Please respect my wishes.
