This page describes how to use the scripts in https://github.com/simonsobs/PSpipe/tree/master/project/Map2params to generate simplified SO/Planck simulations and get their power spectra and covariance matrices. The code can work both with HEALPIX and CAR simulations, it is the primary tool for debugging the SO power spectrum and covariance matrix pipeline.

They are different steps to follow for running the code

  • SO_LAT_Planck_beam.py : create beam file for SO and Planck
  • SO_LAT_Planck_noise.py : create file containing the noise power spectrum for SO and Planck
  • get_maps_to_params_mcm_and_bbl.py : compute the mode coupling matrix and binning matrix
  • get_maps_to_params_spectra.py : generate simulations and compute power spectra
  • maps_to_params_mc_analysis.py : extract statistical properties from the simulations
  • get_maps_to_params_covariance.py: compute analytical covariance matrices
  • maps_to_params_mc_plot.py: generate plot of the simulations statistical properties (bias/errorbar)
  • maps_to_params_covariance_plot.py: generate plot of the covariance matrices

The code can be run as follow:

salloc -N 1 -C haswell -q interactive -t 01:00:00
python SO_LAT_Planck_beam.py global_HEALPIX_spin02.dict
python SO_LAT_Planck_noise.py global_HEALPIX_spin02.dict
