Lecture 9

Recall that the purpose of Lecture 9 is to give you feedback on the first part of the Final Project, the short movie presentation of your idea (full details here).

Lecture 9 takes place on April 16th, 2024, starting at 9am (location below).

The idea is to meet and watch your 1 minute movies. During that time you

  • See what the other groups are doing and can gain inspiration from their ideas
  • Get feedback from me and the TAs The final benefit from this exercise is that we make sure that you get started thinking about your project early.

BUT: Because we are so many students, we don't have time to watch all the movies and get you all feedback. Thus we have to plot up the class this year.

In order to have time to watch the videos,

  • We will split the class into three sub-classes (each consisting of 1/3 of all the groups),
  • We meet at 9am as usual
  • Showing up is necessary to get feedback
    • Sub-class 1 will be in the original auditorium
    • Sub-class 2 will be in room B358, 062
    • Sub-class 3 will be in room B358, 063
  • The main feedback will be provided by the TAs, 2 TAs per sub-class.
  • I will visit all 3 classrooms and give one hour of feedback per sub-class. The order of how I visit each sub-class is secret.

As noted above, we're doing this because there is no way I can give feedback to all 80+ videos in a single session, so we have to go parallel. That said, I think this new solution will be pretty great. This way there's much more time for feedback for each group. And the BIG sessions we've had in previous years also tend to get a bit repetitive (as in, by the end, I end up saying the same things again and again).

Important Notes:

  • You will need to sign up for new FinalProject groups for this on DTU Learn. I will send a separate message about this on Teams.
  • The sub-classes will be based on your FinalProject group IDs, so the first 1/3 will be the Sub-class 1, and so on.
