Getting Lab Access

  1. Go to Office 5105 in SITE (close to the west elevator). Ask for the forms to get access to Lab 4010 and Conference Room 4004, and tell them you are working with Prof Liam Peyton. They will give you 3 forms and instruct you on how to fill them out. Make sure Prof Peyton signs the forms where instructed. The 3 forms can also be accessed here:

  2. You will also need to complete the following tests to get lab access. You'll need to login using your uoZone account. Once you complete the tests, you will get a certificate (one for each). You can either print these certificates out and take them back to the office at Room 5105, or simply email the certificates to: [email protected]

    1. WHMIS Test
    2. Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness Test
    3. Worker Health and Safety Awareness Test

Once you go to the above links click on the "Go to workshop" link on the page, and look for a "Quiz" or "Take the Quiz" link. For your convenience the answers to the above tests are located here (Yes we are awesome):

Getting Access to the Servers

  1. Make sure you have a SITE account. You are entitled to a SITE account if you are taking any courses offered by Faculty of Engineering, but you need to activate it in order to use it. Follow this link to do so: https://www.site.uottawa.ca/autopass/ Instructions and other general info: http://www.site.uottawa.ca/local/labinfo/accounts.shtml#graduate
  2. Ask Prof. Peyton for the resource person that will contact the technician in order to add you to the user group having access to our servers. You will need to give your SITE account username to the resource person when asking him or her to help provide you server access.
