As the title suggests, the purpose of this project is to offer a solution to the current problems of our healthcare system, such as the misplacing or complete loss of important documentation, patients being unaware regarding the rescheduling or cancellation of their appointments, arriving at the drugstore just to find out that your medicine is out of stock, not being able to check your own health record at anytime, and many more problems and flaws this antique system has.
There's already a solution to this: EHR (Electronic Health Record), and actually some of the healthcare providers in our country have them, but from what I've seen, they're incomplete and barely usable.
The objective is to offer a solution that allows doctors, medical assistants, and patients to develop the same tasks and activities they do (writing and reading patients' medical history, taking note of patients' status, updating their pathological conditions, doing a follow-up of their treatments, saving the results of their exams, etc), but with the adventage that the information will be saved in a digital storage system (a database), thus, assuring the data, and making it easy to access, manipulate and update at any place and at any time by any of the users.
Como indica el título el propósito de mi desafío es ofrecer una solución a los problemas de gestión que sufre el sistema de salud: extravío y pérdida de documentos e historias médicas, que a veces se cancelen o se posterguen las consultas y no nos enteremos, tener que ir a sacar medicamentos pero que no tengan stock, no poder tener nuestra historia clínica disponible si la queremos ver o la queremos llevar a una consulta privada, por decir algunos de los muchos problemas y trabas que tiene el sistema que se usa actualmente.
Ya existe una solución a esto: EHR (electronic health record), y algunas prestadoras de salud de nuestro país las ocupan, pero de las que he visto están muy incompletas y la experiencia de usuario no es la mejor.
La finalidad es lograr ofrecer una solución que les permita a los médicos, enfermeros y pacientes desempeñar las mismas tareas y actividades que hacen físicamente hoy (escribir en la historia clínica, leerla, tomar datos de los pacientes, actualizar sus condiciones patológicas, hacer seguimiento de tratamientos, guardar resultados de análisis, etc) con la ventaja de que la información se pueda guardar en una base datos, y esta pueda ser fácilmente accedida, manipulada y actualizada en cualquier momento y lugar por cualquiera de los usuarios (tanto personal médico como los pacientes)

This project was done as the last activity of the educational program Sembrando TIC 2021, in order to showcase the acquired skills and technologies through it.
Some documentation might be in spanish but not yet translated to english or vice-versa, when the development is completed it will get fully translated to both languages. The project is not yet completed but the estimated date for it to be finished is early december.
This is only a personal project, by no means its use is recommended in a production environment, due to the technologies used the code maintenance is not something I'm proud of either. A complete version of this project will start its development soon, with proper technologies that'll make Meedikal what it was intended to be. It's worth mentioning that some features couldn't be implemented due to the limitation of the technologies used (analysis, treatments and medication related features are not available in this version).
